This week Kusaga Athletic created another milestone - launching a retail presence in an iconic building in Sydney. In collaboration with eight other ethical clothing companies, we have recycled the former fast fashion bastion of American Apparel into a showcase of textile innovation and bespoke clothing. For Sydneysiders, the store is open everyday (except Good Friday/Easter Sunday), we will also be sharing a list of events for you to be part of during April. For everyone else, keep an eye on our social media accounts and of course our online store is open for your purchases.

We mentioned the podcast - Endurance FM a few weeks ago, the episode with our founder Graham Ross has now been released - here's their promo:

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. Check out Graham and his team at @kusagaathletic. Here's a guy whose life is about constant challenges outside that comfort zone. Graham completed 9 x IM703, 4x IM 140.6, 2 x The Great Wall Marathon, black belt in Muay Thai and Karate, and former motoGP racer. On top of all of which he's building a sustainable high performance sportswear brand for the Endurance sports industry. Prepare to be inspired and motivated by this episode of Endurance FM.

Welcoming a new Ambassador to the Kusaga Athletic team - Fiona Ford. Day to day, Fiona wears a few hats, full-time triathlon and swimming squad coach, she can often be found leading packs of cyclists across some of the highest mountains in Europe. The former professional triathlete has recently returned to competition after recovering from an unexpected and serious meeting with a car by placing third in her age group at the 2016 Ironman World Championships in Hawaii.

Keep an eye out for her in the upcoming London marathon.

This week Kusaga Athletic welcomed three new team members - student interns from the University of Technology, Sydney. The trio will work with our team as part of their Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation studies. In the first couple of days, they took over our social media feed, and created a survey to understand customer behaviour and attitudes towards sustainable clothing. It’s fascinating to have the perspective of bright millennials in the business, and they have a ton of interesting ideas to explore.

If you’re looking for a new podcast to add to your motivational listening, there’s a new show called Endurance FM and one of the first guests will be our founder Graham Ross. The podcast combines in-depth personal stories of people who live the endurance life - both sport and business. Graham’s interview will be broadcast  in April, we'll send the link around, in the meantime here's their promo:

Oxford Street here we come!

The team has been super busy this week, shipping our planet friendly shirts to customers in Australia, the UK, Singapore and the United States! Word is certainly spreading and each new customer reminds us that people all over the world do care about making a difference. Thanks to the carbon offset programs established by our delivery partners, Sendle and DHL, we are able to get Kusaga shirts to our customers with minimal impact on the planet. Don’t forget we are currently offering FREE shipping for international orders.

Speaking of far-flung places, how fabulous is this? On her recent #mountainbiking trip in the rather challenging mountains of Bhutan, global adventurer and Kusaga fan Diana literally gave away the shirt off her back!

“Donating my #greenesttee on the planet from @KusagaAthletic to my guide in #Bhutan, a country very focussed on protecting the environment.

Have a read of Diana’s Bhutan story on the @suitcaseandsneakers blog, she has some very helpful tips!

And finally in a flurry of excitement this week, Kusaga Athletic has joined a collective of innovative fashion companies to launch a new pop-up retail experience in Sydney. Opening next week, the pop-up will be housed in an iconic Sydney building on the corner of Crown & Oxford Streets - once home to Gowings, Remo General Store and American Apparel. The two-week residency will showcase a range of awesome brands and ethical organisations. We are open from Wednesday 22nd March, so Sydney friends, please drop by and say hello, pick up a shirt or two at our store - or join us at one of the after hours events.

What a week!

It’s been a big week for us at Kusaga Athletic. We launched our new online store in December for Australian customers and opened for business worldwide shortly after. Visits to the site are growing steadily. This week we had our highest number of sales since we launched – thank you!

It’s exciting to see a typical order will include shirts for both men and women and a mix of styles … buy for you, buy for a friend, we love it.

Even better news for us is hearing how much you love the shirts. The ECODRY® fabric is all about making your workout more comfortable and according to your feedback, that’s exactly what it does!

We appreciate everyone who has taken the time to give feedback, this is one of our favourite texts; “Greg and I went for a run this morning in our Kusaga shirts! Felt great. So comfy. Also I've worn my yoga tee 3 times now without washing and after getting drenched in sweat and drying out it doesn't smell.”
